The prospective teacher must be able to show a working knowledge of planning instruction effectively for diverse groups of students, familiarity with assessing and disseminating students' instructional and behavioral development, prepare educational goals for Individualized Educational Plans, exhibit organizational skills to execute and accurately document paperwork utilizing a computerized data system.

Must have current Arkansas Teacher Certification in the area Special Education or be working toward Special Education certification under an Alternative Licensure Plan. Experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Participate in curriculum review and design.

Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.

Diagnose and evaluates student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.

Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.

Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.

Effectively implement district and school procedures and initiatives.

Effectively collaborate with grade level teachers.
